5 Tips To Get More Facebook Fans to See Your Posts

By on November 1, 2016 in Social Media with 0 Comments

EyeballSo, a big complaint from businesses these days is that Facebook is making it harder and harder for you to reach your Facebook Fans. These are the people that actually clicked the “LIKE” button on you Facebook business page. The same ones that, by clicking that LIKE button, were saying I have an interest in what your business has to offer.

It’s frustrating because if they LIKED your page. Shouldn’t they be seeing everything you POST?

You would think the answer would be yes but unfortunately that is not the case.

It’s a different world today. Now you not only have to try to reach potential new fans. But you have to worry about how to reach the fans you already have.

Gee Wiz…nothing like making it super challenging right?

So while it seems like Facebook is out to get us all and greedily force us to pay for ads. That’s not really the case. What Facebook is really trying to do is to force people to develop real, valuable and relevant content for users. And who can blame them? It’s an admirable goal for them to have and really – it should be your goal too.

So What Factors Actually Impact Your Organic Facebook Reach?

1.) Engagement
Okay, it’s not a surprise. If your fans are interacting with your brand/page then that is a good thing. So Facebook’s algorithm looks at your likes, clicks, shares and comments. It’s been doing that from the beginning and it is still important today. If you want to get better engagement for your posts. Look at your Facebook insights. It will tell you which posts have resonated the best with your audience.

2.) Keep On Top of Trends
Are you in the financial industry or maybe the real estate industry? If some big news comes out about your industry, you have to acknowledge the trend and put your two cents in. This positions you as an expert in the field to your fans and everyone wants to work with an expert.

3.) Create Visual Posts
According to Facebook, they noticed that people seem to like status updates that have shared website URL’s with a link preview. This way, when your new update comes up there is a visual to go along with the actual post content. Today, providing visual content is KING!

By now we know that Video tends to get the highest engagement. But did you know that LIVE video seems to get even higher engagement? Try Facebook Live and see what that does for interaction.

Photos, Infographics, Recorded Video, Live Video…these are all visual and will make all of your posts more interesting and likely do great things for engagement.

4.) Don’t Trick People!
This is the “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” rule. Seriously, doesn’t it really make you mad when someone baits you to click on an article link only to be led to some advertisement for something you really don’t want!? Or worse…a fake article that is really an ad? If you mess with people like this. Facebook will make you pay in lower reach, as well they should.

In fact, Facebook will actually look at how long you stay on a page and if it is a very short time, they may categorize it as click-bait. If that’s not motivation for creating awesome content. I don’t know what is!

Also, stop with the “Like-baiting”. Facebook doesn’t tolerate this anymore. So…forget about asking for likes. Instead provide the kind of content that makes someone WANT to like your page.

5.) Create Value
Okay, this really should be #1 on this list because it really is the most important tip of all and is the undercurrent behind all of the tips above. YOU HAVE TO CREATE CONTENT OF VALUE.

If you truly are a business professional or work in a business that provides a great product or service, then you have stuff to talk about! Valuable stuff. So, your goal is to present this on Social Media in a way that is interesting and engaging.

It will take some time and thought but it is the only way to build your audience and engagement. Well that and….a whole lot of PATIENCE. Success with Social Media is not something that will happen overnight. You’ve got to continually test, learn and optimize over an over again. Eventually it will click if you do right by your Facebook fans and potential fans.
